Flow Cytometry Test

A flow cytometry test is used to identify irregular cells in the bone marrow.

Flow cytometry allows doctors to measure the number and characteristics of cells taken from a bone marrow sample. Flow cytometry is the most common diagnostic tests used, and is also used for the diagnosis of other blood cancers. Immunohistochemistry tests, another tests used to detect the proteins in cells, are very similar to flow cytometry. The MMRF is collaborating with researchers to compare flow cytometry to the Adaptive Biotechnologies® ClonoSIGHT™ molecular test.
