The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest and most prestigious marathon, and indeed for many runners "the one" they have to run in their lifetime. Boston is the only marathon (besides the US Olympic Trials) that runners have to qualify for (by running a certain fast qualifying time at another marathon) making a place on the starting line very special indeed.
The 26.2 miles from the narrow neighborhood streets of Hopkinton to the sky scrapers of downtown Boston are flanked with thousands of fans who make witnessing the marathon an annual party on this Massachusetts holiday, Patriots Day.
The MMRF has a very limited number of entries for Boston this year and is accepting applications until the team is filled.
