BMW Berlin Marathon
|September 28, 2014|
Run the fastest marathon course in the world, and enjoy a 26.2 journey through historical and beautiful Berlin.
In 1990, Berlin hosted 25,000 runners who for the first time ran through the historic Brandenburg Gate, bringing tears to the eyes of onlookers. Since then, runners have continued to flock to Berlin to experience one of the best organized marathons in the world, and the fastest course of the five World Marathon Majors.
The course of the Berlin Marathon is well-known for its flatness, which makes the race great for first-timers and for experienced marathoners looking to beat their personal best. The route is also ideal for sightseeing, taking participants past several of Berlin’s historic landmarks, such as the Reichstag, Potsdamer Platz, Berliner Dom, and of course the Brandenburg Gate just before the finish line.
Berlin is the site of the fastest official marathon time in the world (Patrick Makau 2:03:38, 2011). The course also produced the first sub 2:20 marathon by a woman. This is most definitely a PR course!
The MMRF has a very limited number of race entries available for this event. When selecting our team, special consideration will be given to runners who have a direct connection to multiple myeloma and/or who are committed to raise funds beyond the minimum outlined below.
