    VOLUNTEER

    We so appreciate the importance of having individuals who make a difference for us by volunteering their time on specific projects. Opportunities exist throughout the organization but we have the greatest need for volunteers to work on events.

    INTERN

    We work with graduate schools to provide internship projects specifically geared to the required course programs. You can apply for one of the internships we have already defined or you also can to apply to us directly to propose the type of internship you would like to have us consider.  We still have Summer 2010 opportunities available and are currently filling Fall 2010 positions.

    The internship projects typically include:
    • Defining the project, expected outcomes and next steps
    • Researching
    • Benchmarking
    • Analyzing and recommending
    • Preparing a presentation
    • Presenting recommendations to the Executive Committee and appropriate members of staff

    Regional Development and Alliance Manager (East Coast/Mid-Atlantic)

    The MMRF is looking to hire a Regional Development and Alliance Manager for its East Coast/Mid-Atlantic Region. Candidates should have a remarkable track record of successfully achieving high revenue goals and be a proven leader in managing the fundraising efforts of a foundation with primary focus on major gifts and planned giving.

    The role involves leveraging the MMRF’s wide network of major donors, institutions and individuals who currently support the MMRF to create and cultivate new relationships in the effort to achieve aggressive fundraising targets. The challenge is getting the powerful story out to potential contributors.

    The successful candidate will be a great communicator who will bring high energy, drive and a charismatic presence to the role. The individual will be able to grow the function providing strategic direction and the ability to deliver on the plan. The MMRF offers an attractive compensation package and is open regarding location for the right individual. The candidate will likely be from the New York or New Jersey area.

    Part-time Employee

    Grants Coordinator Consultant

    Responsible for pre-award grant-related activities including writing Requests for Applications, developing grant calendar, soliciting proposals, identifying reviewers, obtaining reviews, notifying applicants, and monitoring the status of contracts.

    Responsible for managing all aspects of the post-award process ensuring prompt payment of all grant recipients; tracking Interim and Final Progress Reports, submitting reports for external review, and awarding or proposing corrective action.

    Day-to-Day Key Tasks

    The Grant Coordinator’s day-to-day tasks include the following:
    • Electronic Submission site—oversees and manages grant submission, review and post-award tracking via electronic grant submission site (proposalCENTRAL).
    • Schedules, tracks, and ensures execution of post-award activities such as grant agreements, payments, progress, final reports, etc.
    • Provides technical assistance to applicants and awardees.
    • Assists with special meetings or review committee calls.
    • Develops analyses (via proposalCENTRAL, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) for investors, Board members, research institutes/academic medical centers, and other constituents.

    Communication

    The Grants Coordinator will ensure the timely announcement of grant programs for both academic and industry partners as well as the, review of grant applications and related deliverables to ensure the Research Spend budget goal is met. The Grants Coordinator will communicate any issues that might delay implementation and will consistently provide updates to internal and external constituents regarding the status of disbursements/commitments and publicizing awards as appropriate.

    The incumbent has primary responsibility for coordination and communication with grant reviewers and working with the CSO and MMRF Associate Director of Research to identify and enlist reviewers and ensure that reviews are received on time. In addition, the Grants Coordinator will prepare correspondence to grant applicants and maintain open communications with applicants and recipients regarding the status of grant programs and funding.
